New Orleans ranked #1 by 'Travel & Leisure'

Grand opening party at Eiffel Society
In the same year the New Orleans pro football team, the Saints, ranked Number One in their sport with a Super Bowl victory, their host city once again placed at the top of Travel + Leisure magazine’s list in three categories. The Crescent City also ranks first for singles, cocktail hour and live music scenes, and it’s the winner in the “wild weekend” category too.

The world’s most widely read magazine for travelers, Travel + Leisure has consistently, over the course of recent years, ranked New Orleans at or near the top in these categories, based on a readership poll. As many as 125,000 readers or more may submit their votes in these and other categories around this time every year – usually during the summer when traveling is at its peak.

Here we are at the gala opening of the Eiffel Society, a new bar that supposedly was transported from Paris. The story goes that the steel structure was too heavy for the top of the Eiffel Tower, so it was disassembled and moved to St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans. Pourquoi pas?
