The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus arrived in style at the Crescent City with a downtown parade on Wednesday (June 15).

Even in parade-crazy New Orleans, it’s unusual to see elephants rambling in a line down Poydras Street. Of course, there were clowns and special throws tossed to the crowd along the streets. The circus, featuring traditional high-wire acts and the youngest and first black ringmaster in Ringling’s history, Jonathan Lee Iverson, performed Thursday through Sunday (June 16–19) at the New Orleans Arena.
