Ralph's sweet peas are abloom
You heard about Ralph's sweet peas back in October. There was much angst waiting to see if the seeds would arrive in time for fall planting. The seeds were ordered online from Maine, but they actually originated in France and French were striking over retirement age.
It was quite a project, two guys preparing the soil around the perimeter of the property and Ralph overseeing.
We experienced a cold winter, but spring is definitely here now and so are the sweet peas. They're climbing the fence and rising above.
Ralph is very proud of his sweet peas, which have brought him some fame. The Times-Picayune annually sends out a photographer to snap a picture.
They are beautiful and delicate and not often seen.
