Jim Russell's Records is quickly approaching its 40th anniversary.
With a motto like:
"If you can't find it here, you can't find it anywhere,"
the store sets up quite a challenge, but its archive includes rock 'n' roll, R&B, soul, rap, Cajun, jazz and gospel. Of most interest is its impressive collection of native artists.
Jim's has hard-to-find 12-inch LPs, 45s, 78s, CDs, cassettes and eight-tracks, as well as cassettes, CDs, TVs, CD players, turntables and accessories, including phonograph needles.
Are you still hoarding your old records, but lack the energy to set up the stereo again? Jim's will convert your LPs to CDs for $10 apiece.
They'll also ship anywhere in the world. The store is on the end of Magazine that is still one-way at 1837 Magazine St.
