Perry Haydel, Jr., left, and Arthur Anderson III, workers from Dixie Marine, came aboard the Natchez Steam boat on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 to give the engine its first overhaul in 35 years since the boat was built. Engine actually predates the Natchez. It was first used 100 years ago to drive the Clairton, a steam driven workboat on the Mississippi River. The boat goes thru yearly maintenance but this was its first engine strip down. The Natchez Captain Steve Nicoulin, right, is looking things over. |
